Welcome

Welcome to the LTG

Formerly known as the London Toxicology Group, The LTG was first established in 1979. The Group membership has a professional interest in the detection and measurement of drugs, alcohol, poisons and their products in man and other biological systems, together with the interpretation of these measurements. This discipline is known as Analytical Toxicology.

LTG

There are currently over 130 members from throughout the UK, Ireland and elsewhere. Membership of the Group is by election and is open to all individuals who possess sufficient appropriate experience or qualifications relevant to, or who can show a constructive interest in, the science of Analytical Toxicology. Most of the leading Analytical Toxicologists in the UK and Ireland are members of the Group.

Analytical Toxicology impinges on society in many ways, e.g. monitoring therapeutic drugs, poisoning (accidental, deliberate and environmental), drug abuse (treatment, in employment, in sports and recreational) and forensic investigations. Therefore it impinges generally on the health of the nation and on safety at work and elsewhere.

Please feel free to browse the website in the spirit of our long-standing aim:

“For the promotion and advancement for the public benefit of education in the science of analytical toxicology.”
